‘I booked on to the retreat last minute but it was the best decision I ever made. I've loved every minute of it and really didn't want to leave. Lately I've felt really out of it with everything that's going on in the world but this weekend has left me feeling like 'me' again. I came on the retreat so that I could connect with myself.. but I've come away with so much more than just that. I've met the most amazing people and even though the retreat was only for a few days, I feel like I've known everyone for years! I honestly feel so relaxed after this weekend and extremely blessed to have spent my weekend relaxing, eating great food, having long chats with the best people, playing games and laughing so much, walking in the beautiful countryside, practising yoga all day and feeling so welcome and accepted by everyone! This was my first yoga retreat and I can promise you that it definitely won't be my last! This is going to be a regular thing from now on! ❤️🙏Xx’

‘Had the most amazing time on January 2022 retreat. Sasha and Eileen are so welcoming! The retreat exceeded my expectations. The yoga, meditation, food and the company was superb. Already booked for next year! Says it all!’

FAQ’S

  • 100% yes, the majority of our students normally come by themselves. If you’d like to share a twin room we will match you with another student.

  • We have one private ensuite room available. This has a supplement price of £150.

  • Each shared room is a twin, they are very clean and comfortable. None of the shared rooms are ensuite, the bathrooms and showers are separate and located next to the bedrooms. If you’d like to share a twin room we will match you with another student or if you come with a friend or partner you can share with them.

  • Congratulations on doing something new! You don’t need to prepare in anyway, we will make sure that you will be comfortable. You will be surrounded by a group of supportive students, many of whom will also initially be quite nervous. We always start with a welcoming circle to make sure everyone feels at home and expectations about the weekend can be set. Prior to the retreat we also create a private Facebook group so participants can connect with each other and we can share useful information.

  • Yes, beginners can join. We have all yoga levels from beginners to advanced, and our teachers will modify the classes so you can practice at your own pace.

  • Fortunately Eileen (one of our Retreat leaders) is also a Public Health Nutritionist and very comfortable ensuring that all dietary requirements will be catered for provided we are given notice.

Sasha and Eileen home cook all of our food so it is made with lots of love! You are very welcome to bring any extra food, snacks or drinks with you.

  • No problem at all. We have had pregnant participants, people undergoing fertility treatment, new Mothers and people trying to become mothers at many of our retreats. Sasha is a registered pre and post natal specialist, as well as a mother of two of her own little munchkins, so you are in super safe hands.

  • Black Lion Barn, Pulverbatch, Shrewsbury, England, SY5 8EA.

  • Our maximum group size will be 12 students with three teachers.

  • Arrival is from 4.30pm on Thursday. Please don’t worry if you aren’t able to arrive at this time. We will plan to have a welcome circle and yoga practice approximately 6pm and an evening meal approximately 8pm. If you won’t be arriving until Friday just let us know.

On Sunday we aim to have our final practice and yummy brunch ready to depart on Sunday approximately 12.30/13.00. You are of course very welcome to go for a nice walk after this.

  • We have put together a suggested packing list below. This isn’t all 100% necessary nor is it all you’re allowed to bring but it’s just a good guide.

    - yoga mat (let us know if you need to borrow one)

    - a blanket, cushion and any yoga props you use

    - lots of comfy yoga clothes as we live in these

    - socks for yin and meditation

    - pjs, slippers and dressing gown

    - eye mask (the rooms have a small safety light which can affect some people)

    - clothes for walking

    - walking boots or similar and coat

    - toilettries

    - books, magazines, games etc for down time

    - Journal or notebook and pen

    - any extra snacks (LOTS of food is already provided)

    - any alcohol and soft drinks

    - any special tea bags or coffee (we provide filter coffee, some herbal teas & regular tea)

    - Nespresso coffee pods (original old style ones)if you like them. There is a coffee machine there but we don’t provide the pods for this.

  • We don’t have a fixed itinerary as we like to modify depending on the needs of our students which we establish during the opening circle.

We then produce a day by day schedule the evening before. We like to keep things as relaxed as possible and also some things are weather dependent.

You are welcome to join for all the yoga and meditation sessions or none, there’s no requirement at all, this really is your retreat to enjoy! We do give modifications throughout each class to make sure they are suitable.

Typically we have a morning meditation session, followed by a gentle morning vinyasa style flow, we walk, journal, workshop, read or nap in the afternoons and have another evening yoga session.

Sometimes this will be a restorative yin session or yoga Nidra, sometimes we have alignment workshops, or if the group is in the mood to move a bit more we can have a stronger flow session.

Eileen and Sasha both have a mixture of different yoga accreditations and styles of teaching so there could even be a Pilates class or AcroYoga session!
